details of death
During World War I, he was conscripted into the army of the Austro–Hungarian Monarchy.
Served as chaplain of the 46th Imperial–Royal Home Defence Infantry Division, i.e. Germ. Landwehr, with Division command in Kraków.
The Division took part in battles on the Eastern Front against the Russians — in offensives starting from the Crown Land Germ. Königreich Galizien und Lodomerien (Eng. Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria), and later in 1914‐1915 in its defence. I.a. it took part in the Battle of Kraśnik on 23‐25.08.1914.
Ministered, among others, in the infirmary (Divisional Sanitary Institution) — i.a. for Germ. 15. Landwehrinfanterieregiment (Eng. Landwehr Infantry Regiment) from Opava — formed in the village of Królewice, Sandomierz district, where in 05‐23.06.1915 the clashes known as the Battle of Opatów took place, which was a consequence of the victory of the Central Powers (Germany and Austria–Hungary) over the Russians in the Battle of Gorlice on 03.05.1915.
In 1917 was in a military hospital in Vienna — may have been transferred there or treated as wounded (his Division fought on the Eastern Front until 1918).
Perished there in unknown circumstances.
