details of death
After the armistice and ceasefire between the Allies and Germany signed on 11.11.1918 in a staff wagon in Compiègne, at the headquarters of French Marshal Ferdinand Foch — which de facto meant the end of World War I; and after the Regency Council established by the Germans — operating on the territory occupied by Germany and Austria–Hungary, the so‐called Germ. Königreich Polen (Eng. Polish Kingdom) — transferred the supreme authority over the army to Brigadier Józef Piłsudski and appointed him Commander‐in‐Chief of the Polish Army, which de facto meant the rebirth of the Polish state, became a chaplain of the Polish Army.
Served in the 37th Infantry Regiment (later known as the 37th Łęczyca Infantry Regiment named after Prince Józef Poniatowski). During the Polish–Ukrainian War of 1918‐1919, the regiment fought to open the road to Lviv, which was besieged by the Ukrainians. It successfully defended, among other places, Jagiellonian Horodok and the railway line leading to it (left the town on 14.04.1919).
There perished in a military hospital — from typhus.
alt. details of death
It is not clear how was supposed to end up in the 37th Infantry Regiment. The Regiment was formed in Przemyśl and initially had no ties with Koło, where was a vicar, or the Kalisz region. The Regiment's reserve battalion was sent to nearby Łęczyca, c. 50 km from Koło, as late as 16.09.1919, and the entire Regiment reached Kutno to station there on 23.01.1920. Perhaps, therefore — these are the assumptions of the authors of „Liber Albus” — reached Jagiellonian Horodok in 06.1919 together with the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 29th Kalisz Infantry Regiment, which at that time, passing through Horodok, took part in the next phase of the battle with Ukrainians for Lviv.

descriptions
Polish‐Ukrainian war of 1918‐1919: One of the wars for borders of the newly reborn Poland. At the end of 1918 on the former Austro‐Hungarian empire’s territory, based on the Ukrainian military units of the former Austro‐Hungarian army, Ukrainians waged war against Poland. In particular attempted to create foundation of an independent state and attacked Lviv. Thanks to heroic stance of Lviv inhabitants, in particular young generation of Poles — called since then Lviv eaglets — the city was recaptured by Poles and for a number of months successfully defended against furious Ukrainian attacks. In 1919 Poland — its newly created army — pushed Ukrainian forces far to the east and south, regaining control over its territory. (more on: en.wikipedia.orgClick to attempt to display webpage
