In 07.1920, during the Polish–Russian War of 1919‐1921, the Russians occupied his Horodok parish. After the Polish triumph and the end of the war, Horodok nevertheless remained outside the borders of Poland, as designated by the Treaty of Riga on 18.03.1921. After gaining grip on the power, the Russians began to enforce the Bolshevik Russia legal order. Began nationalizing industry and land — including church property. Threatened then a church excommunication of those who would commit the robbery of lands belonging to the Church. The criminal Russian secret police organization Cheka responded in 08.1921 by attempting to arrest him. When the news of this spread, the parishioners began to ring the bells and several thousand people gathered around the rectory. The Cheka agents began to shoot in the air, but did not scare the crowd. Released then and that same night two parishioners took him to the Polish border, c. 30 km away, which crossed illegally, saving life. Both parishioners were arrested and murdered by the Cheka upon their return.
In independent Poland, in his Zimna Woda parish, murdered by unknown bandits during a robbery of the rectory — shot twice in the back and once in the head.
