Wołczaste
Excerpt from the situation report of the PUBP manager in Jarosław for the period from March 3 to March 17, 1945.
„A series of armed attacks against Ukrainians leaving for the Soviet Union was discovered. Armed troops attack the population, rob, burn buildings and kill people. For example, on March 3, in the village of Wołczaste, an armed group of 30 people murdered 16 men, one child and 5 women. This gang collected many things, cattle, and then departed towards Łańcut […] we found that the killings and robberies were perpetrated by armed groups of the Home Army. It was found that militia officers cooperate with the Home Army terrorist bands”.
