Excerpt from Anna Orzechowska's memoirs about the murders of Ukrainians in Ryszkowa Wola by gangs from Polish villages:
To start with, it seems to me that on May 3 or 4 [1945], on Friday, we drove the cattle to the pasture for the first time. I was 10 then. About noon from the hamlet of Wilchów, i.e. from Jarosław, two men come to us very quickly. One was in a railwayman's uniform, the other in a military–like uniform. As soon as I saw them with my sister Ola, they immediately started shouting:
— «Father, people, run away, because the Poles are going to murder us!».
Everyone, even my little children, knew that Polish gangs were murdering Ukrainians  […] The first victim of a bandit attack was Vasyl Rapita (known as 'Rapitka' in the village). He was 70 years old then somewhere. He didn't want to run anywhere, saying that she had blamed nothing on anyone for him to be killed, let alone being so old. The poor man did not understand that in order to be murdered, it was enough to be a Ukrainian. They shot him in a pasture near the forest where he was grazing cows. My almost 50‑year‑old aunt Ahafija Sapelak (the mother of the bishop of UHKC in Argentina, Andrij Sapelak and priest Vasyl Sapelak), was killed by the bandits in the garden near her barn. Marija Olchowa, 50 years old, was killed in her yard when she was selecting potatoes for planting. Anna Proć ('Petrania'), 17‑year‑old and 17‑year‑old Marijka Maczuha ('Andrejowa') were caught by the attackers on a footbridge as she ran away into the field  […] After being caught, they brought them to the meadow near Anna Proć's house and shot them there, then dragged them away. the girls' shoes and they took away. And while the torturers had not yet killed them, Anna Proć pleaded with Jan Duda:
— «Johnny, give us life, such a beautiful world, we are eating young, we want to live, we are innocent, we went to one school together in Jarosław, we do not harm you. we did».
These requests did not help  […]
Dmytro Maczuha ('Andrejowy'), some 60 years old, and his older, 20‑year‑old daughter Anna  […] were shot by the bandits in their yard
”.

Excerpt from Anna Orzechowska's memoirs about the murders of Ukrainians in Ryszkowa Wola by gangs from Polish villages:
After two days [from the first] the bandit attack on Chodan was repeated. This time at night. They murdered 35‑year‑old Petr Rapita ('Rapitka'), son of Vasyl Rapita. The bandits stabbed him with a bayonet in Wowek's yard; 18‑year‑old Mykhailo Rapita ('Cetulak') was murdered in the garden of Vasyl Chodania ('Czepilinki'). 50 years have passed since then, but our pain does not recede…”.
