Excerpt from Ołeksander Kolańczuk's memoirs about the murder of Ukrainians from Chylin:
„On May 15, Josyp Skubij and Anton Pekuła from Chylin, returning from Chełm […] , were beaten by a unit of the NZS (National Armed Forces) in the village of Wierzbica and bearly alive were taken to the vicinity of the village of Kulik. Fate thereafter unknown”.

„On May 15, inhabitants of the village of [Wólka Tarnowska] Wasyl Fedorowycz returning from Chełm and his 16‑year‑old daughter Nadija […] were beaten by a unit of the NZS (National Armed Forces) in the village of Wierzbica and a bearly alive were taken to the vicinity of the village of Kulik.
