Kamionka
Excerpt from Ivan Kyrpan's account of the murders of Ukrainians in Kamionka by the inhabitants of the Polish village of Lubatowa:
„One spring day, a breathless friend Kotys came to me and shouted:
— «Let's go to Abramów (Zawadki hamlet, bordering Kamionka)! There, in the garden, a Pole shot Fedor Czełak when he was tending to the cattle!».
The victim, lying in the grass in the middle, was surrounded by a crowd of people. When I pressed myself inside, I saw the bloody body and clothes of the dead man. The bullet pierced the breasts, from which drops of blood slowly flowed out and immediately froze on the clothes. For some time I stared at the still, lifeless face of Czełak — he was my godfather […] When I looked back, I saw how the neighbors watched the deceased's wife unconscious with water, around whom stood three little girls, and since then orphans […]
Fedir Radko dared to go to the city via Lubatowa — he had not returned until then […]
Until today, it is not known where the dust of those who guarded the [displaced] horse carriages at the station [in Rymanów] is unknown. These people weren't to blame for anything. Petro and Volodymyr Kobela, sons of Ivan, traveled to Poland more than once, trying to explain the circumstances of the murder of their father and others among the inhabitants of the village, to find their burial places, but in vain. Officials made faces that they did not know anything about this accident.
Czełak Ivan and Mykhailo Barna were only 16 years old, when a bandit bullet interrupted their lives, Vasyl Bobryk was 22, Kobela Ivan — 41”.
