1945 February 26, Leżajsk — Fragment of the situation report of the Jelna Commune Board for the Poviat Starosty in Łańcut about the killings in the commune:
„As a result of tougher Polish–Ukrainian conditions, a murder was carried out on a Ukrainian, Wańczyk Wojciech, residing in Jelna. The murder was carried out on February 22, 1945. The abovementioned was shot by the perpetrators unknown to us. Moreover, livestock, household utensils, grain, etc. were taken from all persons of Ukrainian nationality”.
