Tarnawa Górna

Excerpt from the report of the interrogation of Piotr Iwaneczka, the former deputy commander of MO in Sanok, by an employee of the SB‑OUN on October 5, 1945, about the murders of a Home Army unit and members of the Citizens' Militia of the Republic of Poland from Tarnawa Górna on several dozen Ukrainians on Mount Gruszka and Tarnawa Górna:
Before the arrival of the Bolsheviks, partisans were organized by the Home Army. One branch operated in Gruszka (Sanockie). I personally knew only Orski from this group, who told me about some of their actions. They once carried out an action on Ukrainians evacuated from Stanisławski. There was this evacuating trade institution (probably 'Soyuz'). About 30 of them were murdered. 75 kg of silver and half a million zlotys in gold were taken.
I know about Tarnawa that 8 dead bodies were found in this village by the militia, and the commander confessed to 13 murdered, including 10 Ukrainians and 3 Poles
