Morochów
Excerpt from the situational report of Stepan Golasz 'Mar', the OUN reporter from the 'Beskid' district about the murder of a Ukrainian woman in Morochów by Polish Army soldiers:
„On April 17, 1946, 130 soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces and Polish civilians from Niebieszczany came to rob and deport the village of Morochów. The troops captured 17 Ukrainian families, who beat them badly and took them to Zagórze. Polish civilians from Niebieszczany walked around the village with shovels, looking for hidden grain. The villagers lost the leftover potatoes. The army set fire to the upper end of the village, resulting in the burning of 7 farms. One woman was thrown by the Polish Army alive into the fire”.
