On August 6, 1946, 'Smyrnyj' wrote: "An ambush against the border guards from the Żydowski. Six killed, a few captured. The sister of my older school friend, who was returning from Gorlice, from pre–wedding shopping, was seriously injured. She was going to get married. The Poles put her on their wagon by force to protect themselves. Severely wounded in the chest, she died after a few hours […] During the shooting, we did not pay attention to the woman, being convinced that decent girls do not go with Poles".
