Żydatycze
Upowcy and local The Ukrainians set fire to Polish farms, a Pole, Jan Turczyński, burnt alive. „They become named and declare: on May 21, this year. at 11 o'clock at night, a Ukrainian group of around a dozen people armed with automatic rifles attacked the Polish population of the Jewish community, and in particular, Rome. – the Catholic presbytery, which was shelled, windows were broken and efforts were made to break inside, and only thanks to the strong grating and securing all entrances, it was not possible to implement this intention. In addition, one residential building and three farm buildings with inventory were burned down. Inhabitants of burnt houses, all Poles managed to escape in time and hide. The above attack lasted only half an hour, because the attacking band withdrew from Żydatycze, when the German soldiers of the detachment standing there on the air searchlight appeared with rifles for the defense of the population. Although there is a Ukrainian militia station on the site in Żydatycze, no policeman appeared at all and intervened, and the police only left the station at 8 am. That this attack was prepared by the Ukrainians, and that it is in consultation with the local Ukrainian militia and the local Ukrainian population, is proved by the following facts:
1. The unit carrying out the robbery appeared from the Ukrainian militia post,
2. The militia did not intervene at all,
3.The Ukrainians all did not come to the rescue, even with the help of their closest relatives living in the immediate vicinity (Jan Turczyński, a Pole burnt, son–in–law Iwan Fedecki), claiming that they were not allowed to come to the rescue and make an alarm (witness Julia Bar Polka, when she escaped to a nearby Ukrainian neighbor, Michał Michalak, told her that he was not allowed to shelter a Pole in his apartment and forbade her to shout and alarm, witness Maria Konstancjak, whose Ukrainian Pasiak said that in the event of a robbery he must not sound the alarm and ring the gong). About a week before the attack, the head of the Jewish community, a Ukrainian, Jurko Michaluk, forbade the Poles to exercise any guard and said that Poles had nothing to fear, because there would be no attack on them and no such propaganda could be spread, because those who spread would be punished immediately. After the attack on the Polish population, the village leader told the hosts Bartłomiej Dorosiak, Stanisław Turczyński, Józef Par and Wawrzyniec Par, when they complained to him that he had announced that there would be no attack, that this was a German policy, that the Poles would remove”.

Żydatycze
In another attack, the UPA set fire to several Polish houses and killed one Pole; The Germans forced the attackers to flee with arrows. „On May 23, 1944 in the village of Żydatycze (now Hamalijiwka in the Lviv region), the UPA sotnya burned down a dozen Polish farms and murdered one Pole. The size of this tragedy would probably have been greater if not for the fact that the Ukrainians were driven out of the village by the German unit, which fired” shots in their direction.
