Żurawiec
[The Ukrainians] murdered 29 Poles, including 25 people burnt alive in a barn, whole families. „The Banderites, on the second day after the murder in the church, attacked Rudnia, and then, three days later, committed a monstrous crime in Żurawiec, near Zapust. In the barn at Zdeba they burnt 25 people alive, including 6 from the Siut family. I saw it with my own eyes as they rushed these poor people to this barn. What terrible moans and howls were coming out of this barn! I will not forget them for the rest of my life […] Only Władysław survived from the Siut family, who later joined the 27th Volhynian Infantry Division of the Home Army AK”.
