Fragment of Stefanija Tchir's memoirs about the murders of Ukrainians in Żohatyn by the Citizens' Militia from Borownica and soldiers of the Polish Army:
On his return [from Piątkowo 'Ślepy'] visited elderly people in our village, childless Paliwody, Tomek and Paraska. He murdered both of them. She was still alive for a while and shouted:
— «Lord, give me one more bullet! »
And he gave her one
”.

Fragment of Myron Paliwoda's memoirs about the murders of Ukrainians in Żohatyn by members of MO from Borownica and inhabitants of neighboring Polish villages:
Jan Kotwicki commanded his group in the village of Żohatyn, murdering the colonies of Mutwice and Pasieki. Tomasz and his wife Paraskevia, his father, who was over 70 years old, were led out of the Paliwody household. Tomasz was shot in the yard, and his wife was chased towards the stream, wounding her arm and leg. The old man was following them voluntarily. Unable to walk anymore, the woman turned to the escorts with these words:
— «Gentlemen, why are you playing with me so much? Don't skimp for this bullet for me».
Kotwicki replied to these words:
— «I will certainly not regret it».
And they killed her. Turning to my grandfather, [Kotwicki] said:
— «And you, buddy, where are you going?».
— «I am following my daughter‑in‑law also to death»
— «You, grandfather, will go back home».
And my grandfather trotted up to the village and told everything exactly. Among other things, that Paraska was shot by Jasiek from the Bieńkowski family. He was our family, which he joined as the «sewn‑in son‑in‑law»
”.
