Fragment of Marija Łucaś's memoirs about the murder of a Ukrainian by the Polish authorities in Żniatyn:
„The next thing was that Poles were raiding every two weeks, and Russians every month. Poles murdered and Russians took away. Poles killed Mykhailo Andrusewycz on the way”.

Żniatyn
Excerpt from a Polish Army terror report in the village of Żniatyn prepared by 'Czumak', an employee of the SB‑OUN from the V District II of the Zakerzonya Region in the village of Żniatyn, as a result of which the soldiers murdered 2 Ukrainians and led one to suicide:
„After three days, that is on May 27, 1946, [Polish Army] is coming again to repeat the deportation […] During the deportation, they organized manhunts in the fields near Żniatyn and in the forest […] Here they could boast of some successes. It happened that they found hiding places dug by people in the fields, to have a place to hide during the deportation. There were 4 men in one. The hiding place was found, one of them, Pylypczuk Iwan, shot himself with a pistol, and three others were suffocated by the smoke of bursting grenades that were thrown into the hideout by Polish Army soldiers. After long attempts to save, two were rescued (they were saved by the Poles themselves). They did not manage to save Kysil Mykhailo, 22 […] In addition, they killed Bihera Stepan, about 25, during the deportation”.
