Skawiński Jerzy, 60, forester, living in Żelechów Wielki, county Kamionka Str. Was kidnapped by unknown perpetrators together with his family consisting of: wife, daughter and mother, wife on 22 / 23.I.1944. The body has not yet been found. The house mentioned above was burnt down.

Also: In the village of Żelechów county Kamionka Strumiłowa: „Many attacks took place on the night of January 27–28, 1944. to the raid on the forester's lodge in Żelechów, district Kamionka Strumiłowa, where the forest engineer Skawiński, his wife and daughter were kidnapped to the forest. «The reason was to be revenge for the destruction of Ukrainian property and for handing over the wood in exchange of official receipts, despite the warnings of Ukrainians». at the same time, the local dairy was smashed, taking 320 kg of butter”.

At the turn of June and July 1944: „Last week, Regieńcuka Paweł, 76, with his wife of 60 and d/o 25, was murdered. The Ukrainians are killing incoming Poles. Currently, there are still 10–15 Poles from Poland. The main executor of the murders of Hrycyna Andrzej, a local gamekeeper, his deputy Sawczan Iwan, a spiritual activist, parish priest Kowalski”.

The militants from the SB‑OUN kidnapped a four–person Polish family of a forester with two children, which went missing without a trace, they robbed and burned the forester's lodge. Others: husband, wife, daughter and mother of the wife died.

My mother Katarzyna (1920) told me about the murders of Poles in Żelechów Mały and Żelechów Wielki in the Tarnopol Province in 1943/45, she does not remember exactly the names and surnames of all the murdered, but what she remembers – she asked me to write it somewhere. ŻELECHÓW WIELKI area Kamionka Str. Name: Kanas XXX –3 persons; Regieńczuk XXX – 3 people; FORESTRYÓWKA near the forest XXX – 3 people; Hawrylak Paweł; Józef Łubińska.
