Zawój
November 1945, Lemkivshchyna — Fragment of the „Wisti z terenu” report on the murder of Ukrainians in Zawój in October 1945:
„On October 3, the Polish Army in the strength of 100 people came from the direction of Luha to the village of Zawój in the Lesko district. The UPA sotnya was quartered in the village. Notified by the stands, the sotnya did not withdraw from the village or took up combat positions, thinking that it was her own. Only under the fire of machine guns opened by the Poles, ours retreated to the forest. The Polish Army burned down 4 houses and murdered Szczerba Ivan's wife”.
