The Ukrainians murdered 22 Poles, including the parents of priest Kazimierz Bartosiewicz. They tied their 84‑year‑old father, Wojciech Bartosiewicz with barbed wire and gouged out his eyes. The priest jumped out of the window and lay for several hours in the snow, frostbitten his fingers and toes and did not recover until the end of his life.
