Borki
Polish translation of Excerpt from Mikołaj Andrusiak's memoir „Krywawyj teror polśkych bojiwok na Nadsianni” about the murders of Ukrainians in Borki, included in the 1986 collection „Jarosław and Beyond the San river regions”:
„Kateryna Piskorowska — shot. Her legs were tied with barbed wire. Her body was thrown into the Tanwia river. The perpetrators of the crimes were: Michał, Tadeusz and Józef Andrasik. Bronisława Chmielewska, a young woman who left a small child, was shot on the threshold of her cottage. This crime was committed by Józef Pachla and Franciszek Koni. Mykola Paszko and her son Iwan were horribly tortured. The entire family of Mykoła Wołoszyn was murdered, his five sons were severely tortured before their death. Oleś Beńko — the mayor of the commune — stood up for Poles arrested by the Germans in Kurzyna Middle. After they were released, he returned home and was killed on the way. It is said that one of the perpetrators of this crime was a Pole released from prison, who was defended by Beńko […] Szymko Ołeksak — shot, Andrij Piskorowski — murdered, Josyf Wołoszyn — shot, Kateryna Szczepaniak with a baby daughter — shot on the way to Stalowa Wola. The same fate befell Kateryna Wołoszyn with her two little daughters when she was visiting her husband in Stalowa Wola. P. Wołoszyn, known as 'Paciuch' — murdered. Władysław Hadaj was publicly martyred, later hanged by his feet, alive, and a fire was lit under him. The bandits downplayed the fact that he was married to a Polish woman”.
