On April 17, 44 units of the UPA operating in our area („Hałajda”, „Prołom”) carried out the liquidation of the seats of Polish bands in Rawa – Rzyczki and Zabór. On the same day, a Polish gang consisting of several dozen people was to carry out, as our intelligence beyond doubt stated, an anti–Ukrainian action in the village of Zaborze. Our troops only anticipated the action of the Polish gang by half an hour. „Hałajda” unit carried out an action in Rzyczki, where 15 Polish bandits were liquidated. During the „Hałajda” action, 10 German Schutzpolizei cars and one tankette from Rawa arrived at Rzyczki. There was a shooting between them and the „Hałajda” machine gun socket. However, after some time, the Germans began to give signals by picking up the rifle in both hands shouting: „Ukraine! Ukraine!” to stop the fire. „Czornota” explained to them what it was about, and [immediately] the Germans departed, and the action in Rzyczki continued. Branch „Prołoma” at the same time conducted an action in Zaborze, where 30 bandits were liquidated. A dozen or so Polish bandits escaped into the forest from where they were shooting. There were no losses of my own.

Myrosław Onyszkewycz „Orest Karat” gave the order: „I order you to purge your area immediately from the Polish element and Ukrainian–Bolshevik agents. The purge should be carried out in riverside hostels sparsely populated by Poles. To this end, create a militia near the area, composed of our members, whose task would be to eliminate the above–mentioned. Our larger hostels will be cleared of this element by our military units even in broad daylight […] The clearing of the area must be completed before our Easter so that we can celebrate it without Poles. Remember that when the Bolsheviks find us with Poles in our territory, they will slaughter us all […] Make a hard, ruthless fight with them. Not to spare anyone, even in mixed marriages. To take Lachs out of their houses, but The Ukrainians and children in these houses should not be liquidated […] Get the gun. Death to the Poles. Stop, April 6, 1944. Glory to the heroes! Orest, Karat” This order is in the files of the investigation against Myroslav Onyshhevych.
