The Banderites cruelly murdered Fr Józef Kaczorowski, his 85‑year‑old mother died on the following day. „It is February 9, 1944 – in the village of Wołków, Przemyślany County, priest Józef Kaczorowski is killed by the UPA. He is brutally murdered under a church statue by a group of 20 Ukrainian nationalist militants. The priest's mother is shot in the attic and dies in the hospital after a long torment. There is a great commotion throughout the county, news of the priest's murder spread very quickly. Some witnesses know the names of”'s torturers.
