general info
Wólka Szczecka
In the German–Ukrainian pacification, at least 323 Poles (186 men, 68 women, 69 children) were murdered, and 359 households were burnt, including the bodies of further victims. Szczecin was already on fire when Wólka Szczecka was attacked. The buildings were fired on by artillery and machine guns, after which the Germans and their collaborators from both sides entered the village and began a systematic massacre. Witnesses mentioned that during the pacification there were numerous cases of burning people alive. Dozens of people were locked in the barn of the host Kobylicki (aka Kobylniecki), which was then set on fire. The village of over 200 buildings (including 70 residential) was almost completely burnt. Inventory and more valuable goods were looted. „02/02/1944 were murdered by the gendarmerie (names not mentioned by Sister Jastrzębski): 1. Burek Czesław, age 3, 2. Burek Bogdan, age 1, 3.
