Wołczak

In the forests near Wołczak, (Werba commune, Włodzimierz county), near the Czereniuka, Pole gamekeeper's lodge, the UPA gang dug a hole, or actually deepened the existing one. Near this place, the Ukrainian militia organized ambushes for Poles passing by and passing by. The captured were most often brought to the headquarters of the UPA headquarters, where they were subjected to cruel torments. Then the victims were brought or brought (unable to walk) to the vicinity of the pit and murdered there; most often with axes. The first victims murdered at this pit were the family of the gamekeeper Czereniuk, potential witnesses of the crime. Wacław Korolski, who managed to escape from the place of execution, informed about the place of the murder and the mass grave of dozens of Poles.
