Excerpt from a memoir conversation with Andrzej Piskorz, born in in 1927 in Wiązownica about the murder of Ukrainians in Wiązownica on the night of April 1—2, 1945:
— «Maybe if people were hiding further in the fields, they would not have killed us… He said that there were three Russians, they would protect us».
— «Russians from the police station?»
— «No, from the farm. They had a radio station, they were broadcasting. And we went to this farm. How many of us went? Me, my father, brother, old Puka, his son, his daughter, her husband and three children. Ten. And also Adach, who was called Hul, Wasiuta Michał, Zastawna Natalia, granddaughter, Dmitruś Józef. Fifteen in total. We went to the Russians. Somewhere around nine o'clock, gray light»…
— «On Sunday?»
— «On Sunday».
— «And then what? »
— «It was getting dark outside. We hear hrym–hrym at the window. And the windows were barred».
— «What was the building like?»
— « Wheelwright shop. These three Ruthenians made a bathroom for themselves by the stove, they were bathing, washing. »
— «And what's next?»
— «Nobody opens, nobody speaks. Then they broke down the door and immediately unleashed a burst from the machine gun. I did not think that they would kill, but that they would arrest. And I hid on my side. They ask ‹Ukrainians or Poles?›. Nobody a word. Once, twice — nothing. Then they ordered everyone to get up and stand against the wall. Face down to the ground. And they ask again: ‹Poles or Ukrainians›. Nobody [replied]. Milo's voice is heard: ‹Gentlemen, let me go, I was in the Polish war, I shed my blood! Forgive me›…. They killed him first».
— «And the Russians?»
— «The Russians were afraid, they sat in their office and did not even leave. They were about a hundred meters away».
— «The attackers turned on the light?»
— «No. And he started taking turns. He asked everyone for a name and [fired] a machine with single shots. I thought it was Gliniak's voice, but it wasn't him. Then it was said that it was somebody from Volhynia».
— «How many Poles were there?»
— «Two inside, the rest outside  […] I didn't see them, I hid so they wouldn't see me».
— «Where?»
— «I said that as soon as he came in, I hid right away. I think Wasiuta was injured right away, because he couldn't get up. I hid behind the cooker».
— «What happened next? They shot Milo and»…
— «One by one, in turn. They killed fourteen people, except me. They left and I heard a terrible groan… I don't even know how to say it. You have no idea what it's like how a person ends. And I felt fear. I realized they had killed everyone. And what's next? I had German shoes with nails. I will move, they will hear me. ts, ts, barefooted, I'm moving this Adach — a corpse, the other… I don't remember if it was Adach, I can say that I was moving a man. And I jumped out»
”.

Wiązownica

The UPA from the „Zaliźniak” sotnya burned 170 Polish farms and murdered, according to the findings of Mieczysław Samborski, about 130‑140 Poles. He compiled a list of 110 murdered civilians and 4 soldiers of the Polish army killed in defense. In the study „Wiązownica remembers”, he writes on p. 23. „Of the 110 victims, we know the circumstances of the deaths of 73 people. The remaining ones are hidden under the euphemism of «killed», or are unknown, because they have not been remembered by Wiazownicza. The causes of death were gunshot and / or fire and smoke, i.e. burning and suffocation. 45 people were killed as a result of the gunshot. We note several cases when a shot victim was set on fire (with straw) or thrown into a raging fire. It seems that the first victims were the family of Stanisław Kuka, Stanisław Janowska and «a ten‑year‑old child», all of them from Mołodycz, who were «blocked with» in the extreme house in Zadworz, which belonged to Leon Kruba. While trying to escape from the burning house, they were shot through the windows. a dozen or so people (including Józef, Maria and Zofia Gorylowie, aniela, Maria and Stanisław Kruk, anna Pociecha, aniela, Helena and Stanisława Skrzypek, Emilia, Jan, Jan «II» and / NN / Szumigraj and Maria and Władysław Wysocki) were left shot at the so–called «The Magdziak Hill». In two neighboring houses in Zadworz, about 25 people suffocated and / or burned in the cellars. In Klupka's house, apart from the four female members, the deaths were among others: Emilia and Władysława Cieliczko, Bronisław and Józef Haśko, and people with the surname Paszko. In the house of Szymon Golba, apart from his whole family (six people) – Maria Żołyniak, Katarzyna, Maria and Stefania Orzechowska”. Among the attackers, local Ukrainians and a Uniate paroch from Monasterz were identified.

I remember from stories how the UPA tied a horse by the neck of an inhabitant of Wiązownica, whose name was Kasia, and the horse broke his head off while running.
