(railway station)

At the Uhnów railway station, poviat Tomaszów Lubelski, the UPA burnt the station buildings and killed two Polish Army soldiers. At 22.45, sotnya 'Szum' struck the Uhnów railway station, where about 200 Ukrainian families were staying, waiting for their departure to the USSR. The station was protected by 50 soldiers from 7th IR of the 3rd Infantry Division. As a result of the action, two soldiers were killed and three were injured. The Ukrainians burned down the train station, 23 empty wagons, and six sugar wagons. Two people died from among the civilian population. 120 displaced people escaped.

On the railway route Uchnów – Korczów, poviat Lubaczów: „On May 12, 1946, the UPA 'Shum' gang attacked railroad transport with soldiers on board in the Uchnów – Korczów, poviat Lubaczów (now Biłgoraj poviat) section of the railway line. As a result of shots and planted mines, a train consisting of 50 wagons was derailed, with about 50 soldiers of the Polish Army killed and several dozen injured. All 50 wagons were burned”. Edward Prus quotes „List of criminal acts committed by UPA gangs in 1944‑1947”, compiled at the 'C' Department of the Provincial Office of Internal Affairs in Rzeszów. In this „List” attacks on the Uchnów (Dachnów) railway station, poviat Lubaczów, where about 30 soldiers of the Polish Army were to die on April 24, 1946, and on May 12, 1946, were mentioned.
