Turyczany
Orthodox feast of the assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary: a Ukrainian, s/o a teacher, slaughtered a Polish wife, a teacher, 34 years old with an ax; moreover, her family and a dozen other Poles were murdered. „Here in Turyczany, the police for a single murder chose the so–called «Pniaki», a place distant from Turyczany and Głęboczyca to several kilometers. There was not a day when the victim was not taken to «Pniaki» for murder, along our route leading through Turyczany and Głęboczyce next to Hajeki and further to «Pniaki». There was a good spot, shaded with bushes with ready–made trunks. From the spring of 1943, in our vicinity, within a radius of about 20 km, he did not see a German with a candle. The power is exercised by the Ukrainians, only the UPA. Even the contingents for the UPA are set up by”.
