Trzcianiec
Fragment of an interview with Lubomyra Petryczko (maiden name Pełykan), b. in 1942 in Trzcianiec about the murder of her father by the militiamen of the MO station in Wojtkowska:
„— «Please, tell me what you know about the murder of your father?»
— «At one point, someone knocked on the window. My mom opened the door. Two came in and they took my dad, led him to the police station in Trzcianiec. On the next day, they informed us that they would lead them to Wojtkowo. My mother took me in her arms, my brother Mychajło and brother Włodko were walking next to us. Dad was tied to the wagon. There were more men on the cart and the cart wheel. We walked Daddy while we could, I didn't see Dad anymore. I found out later, when I was married, that he was tormented a lot, beaten and tortured. During the night, he somehow got out of there and ran away, but they found him in the tracks, blood was coming out of him. They found him and killed him».
— «When did it happen?»
— «I do not remember the year, there was a little snow.
I remember that when the Russian army entered, they helped my mother find my father, because there was a grave near the church in Wojtkowska, there were many men lying there. Mum couldn't recognize him anymore, but Dad had a 'gap' between [front] teeth, and he was wearing underpants with a patch from my dress, no clothes on. Her sister Julia Bamburak helped my mother in the funeral. My mother never talked about it because she was very intimidated»”.

Fragment of an interview with Anna Maruszczak (maiden name Zubalska), born on On June 27, 1925 in Arłamów about the murder of two Ukrainian women by the soldiers of the Polish Army:
„They deported us [from Arłamów] […] We came to Trzcianiec. They kept us there for the whole week. Cold. People were looking for a shelter. My husband asked a Pole if he would let him go home near the forest. Was allowed to. I think 5 families went there, because the house was huge. My mother's sister‑in‑law, a schizophrenic, was traveling with us, she had a c. 5‑year‑old girl. Sunday evening, we had a fire in front of the kitchen. The sister‑in‑law, Pazia Luby, suddenly took the little girl Ola on her back and left, nobody paid any attention to it. After an hour or two, we hear a shot. After some time a soldier comes and says:
— «We killed the banderite».
We didn't think it might be Pazia, but she never came back, and neither did her daughter, they must have killed her too”.

Trzcianiec
Excerpt from the situational report of Petr Kawuzy 'Taras', the political clerk of the OUN 'Chłodny Jar' district, about the murder of a Ukrainian by Polish Army soldiers and the death of another one in Trzcianiec:
„On April 4, 1946, at 5.30 am, two units of Polish Army numbering 150 soldiers went from Bircza to the village Trzcianiec. Along the way, they fired cannons onto the surrounding forests and only then began to move forward cautiously. Only 20 people entered the village. The rest lined up in the mountains went to the small forest where two days earlier an ambush was set up. They found 4 dead bodies in the forest. As a result, 14 houses were burnt down in the hamlet of Krywe (people lived in only two houses). They burnt down Vasilyk Ivan's house, where he himself suffocated himself, and the farmer, whom they had taken to take the corpses to Bircza on April 2, was severely beaten and shot. His wife and daughter, while fleeing into the forest, were shot at, but were not caught”.

Fragment of memories of Anna Kuryj, born in 1927 in Trzcianiec, about the murder her father, Ivan Wasyłyk, by Polish Army soldiers:
„On this tragic day in April, the People's Army also attacked our village. When the soldiers entered the yard of our property, my father, Ivan Vasilyk, left the house and started talking to these soldiers, and they started shouting at Daddy:
— «When the UPA band was here?» — because that was what they were called.
Papa explains that there were no UPAs here, only the People's Army, which is stationed in Wojtkowska and Bircza, another soldier started shouting theb:
— «Kill that old Banderite»!
After a long struggle in the yard and beating my daddy, they dragged him into the apartment and shot him”.
