The Ukrainians murdered 18 Poles; including kidnapping 25‑year‑old Irena Golańska and murdering her after a group rape and torture in a field near the village of Ostrowczyk. During her funeral in Trembowla, they kidnapped and murdered her fiancé, Wacław Junak, and his friend Jan Ferenc.
