Szutowa

Bandera followers murdered 3 Poles, including girls aged 14 and 18. „In the final stage of this move, three more victims were killed by the Polish population in Szutowa and Rudniki. The details of the latter incident are as follows: In the morning hours on May 10. Two carts left Rudniki in the direction of the river, two girls from Szutowa and two boys from Rudniki who were assigned to help rode on the first one, and a few farmers from Szutowa on the other cart. The intention of the riders was to rescue the rest of the movables left behind by the houses in Szutowa. In the hamlet of Iwaniki near Lubień [Jawory], a group of The Ukrainians gathered on the road stopped the first of the carts, asking who and for what purposes. Having concluded that the driving were Poles, one of the gang members shot the horses forward, and then both girls sitting on the cart. Seeing this, the boys quickly jumped off the cart and began to run away, each in a different direction. One of the attackers, allegedly Petro Depa of Iwanik, chased after them, on foot and then on horseback, chased one of the boys and shot them; the other boy managed to escape. The names of the victims are as follows:
1. Danuta Kwiatkowska aged 14 from Szutowa
2. Stanisława Kupała, 19, from Szutowa
3. Antoni Kowalski, 29, from Szutowa
The other wagon survived only because, while driving a bit behind, she was warned about the impending danger by an unfamiliar passer–by, so she hastily returned to Rudniki. Alerted by the families of the murdered, the criminal police went to the scene of the accident and found the bodies of all three murdered. Their funeral in manifestation took place on Sunday, 12th May. in Rudniki
