Szczurowice

The Ukrainian police arrested him by the Gestapo, interrogated him and released Fr Jan Witek. While returning to the presbytery (in the second half of 1943), he was arrested by the Ukrainian „partisans” and murdered.

The Banderites murdered a Polish family of five: „On January 1, 1944, they were murdered: 1. Brzuchacz Józef, 65; 2. Belly Olga, 52; 3. Brzuchacz Mieczysław age 38, blind master of law; 4. Brzuchacz Jadwiga, a 21‑year‑old daughter, finished high school; 5. Brzuchacz Władysława, d/o 19 years, graduated from” high school.

Polish Delegation KO in Stojanów informed the local Committee on April 4, 1944 that on January 1, 1944, unknown perpetrators attacked the house of a Polish school teacher in the village of Rzeszowice, district Radychów and murdered this teacher's family consisting of 5 people: 1. Brzuchacz Józef, teacher, about 60 years old; 2. Brzuchacz Anna, born wife, about 55 years old; 3. Brzuchacz Mieczysław, son, about 35 years old; 4. Brzuchacz Jadwiga, daughter, about 23 years old; 5. Brzuchacz Władysława, daughter, about 19. The funeral of the murdered was held on January 4, 1944, assisted by the security authorities, at the expense of the community.
