general info
Bielanka
Fragment of memories of Anna Rucka, born in in Rzeki about the murder of partisans from the unit under the command of Józef Kuraś 'Flame' on Ukrainians from Bielanka:
„[Brothers Ivan and Vasyl] Rusynaks came to the village, they walked around the houses selling tar. They sat at home for a while and talked. Vasyl talked about Germany, Maria listened. She liked these two young tar boys, she felt sorry for them. They came in from her house that evening. The people of 'Ognia' were waiting on the road. They both took them to the forester's lodge. They were kept in the barn for two days and tortured, but it didn't help, although she said they were simple tar makers, not enemy spies. On the fourth day [September 6, 1945] the accordion was played and they were led out of the barn into the forest on the Czubak Mountain. They shot them there”.
