Roman Catholic parish priest Fr Stanisław Kwiatkowski was stopped by the Bandera followers dressed in German uniforms, when he was returning from the funeral of Fr Kaczorowski. The perpetrators stripped him down to his underwear and rushed a few kilometers to the village of Ładańce, where they murdered him after being tortured. Together with the priest, they murdered a young Home Army partisan who was supposed to protect the priest; They also murdered a Ukrainian coachman who witnessed the abduction. „On February 14, 1944, three days after the murder of Fr Kaczorowski's funeral takes place. The parish priest Kwiatkowski is looking for a coachman who could go with him to the funeral in a neighboring town. Some of the inhabitants are intimidated and fear the second Banderites attack. Before the funeral, there are threats in the mail that the UPA is planning to attack the priests at the funeral. The parish priest was not refused, he found a coachman. Together with the priest, Paweł Komar (Ukrainian, partisan of the Home army, pseudonym «anna»), takes the weapons to defend his comrades, the coachman Kazimierz Lipski, the cook Olga Czarnożyńska and the young Józef Lipski. In addition to the cart, a few others travel with the priest, including Michał Wyspiański (my great–grandfather). Everyone arrives for the funeral (it is winter time), so around 4pm everyone gathers for the return. a few carts left earlier (including Michał Wyspiański). Furmanka with Fr Kwiatkowski goes in the direction of Chlebowice Świrskie, halfway the coachman notices that there are several other carts on the road, he does not change the route and comes to them. It turns out that the wagons are stopping The Ukrainians in German uniforms, and this is an ambush. Paweł Komar wants to use the weapon, but Fr Kwiatkowski stops him and adapts to the commands of the Banderites. at the same time, a Ukrainian horse cart, Kryl Kisiła, arrives, recognizes the Banderites and defends the priest. The Banderites, however, persisted and took the priest, Paweł Komar and Kiryl Kisiła to the forest. The rest are told to leave. Michał Wyspiański also recognizes the Banderites, some of them come from their hometown of Chlebowice Świrskie. The situation is getting very tense. The Banderites release some of the carts, and some manage to escape. after a while, shots are heard Paweł Komar and Kiryl Kisił are shot, while Fr Kwiatkowski is kidnapped and then tortured. The eyewitness accounts show that Fr Kwiatkowski was tortured for a long time, beaten unconscious (especially his feet, which were crushed). On their backs, the Banderites cut a cross with a knife, they sprinkle salt and finally skin the priest and cut him with a saw. The priest is dying in agony. The next day there is a great commotion of the Home Army looking for a corpse in the forest and finding it tied to a tree. after this incident, there was a slight fear of the village of Chlebowice Świrskie — and that was what the Banderites wanted. Several other priests also died on the same day. Less than a month later, the Banderites also deal with witnesses. They reach Michał Wyspiański, take him outside the house and cut his head off with a handsaw. Everything is to be watched by the family, including the d/o Michał Wyspiański, and today my grandmother. Some of the inhabited The Ukrainians are satisfied with their actions and ridicule Poles saying: «It will be like this with all Poles. They will slice you all like a priest. Your priest was fat so they cut stripes on his back they covered them with salt and stuck them again so that» would suffer. a quote from the mother of two young Banderites after the murder of Fr Kwiatkowski. The organized retaliation of the Home Army troops came practically at the same time from Lviv. a group of 50 members of the Home Army carried out a retaliation against Banderites in Chlebowice Świrskie, killing about 130 people, including 6 Poles (by mistake)”.
