Strzelce

Crime committed in the villages of Strzelce and Tuchana on May 26, 1943 on the civilian population of Ukraine by a unit of the Kedyw of the Home Army.
Several dozen farms were burned. According to Mychajło Horny, the total number of victims in Tuchania and Strzelka amounted to 28 people (22 in Strzelce and 6 in Tuchania), including 26 men and 2 women. 8 people were injured (5 in Strzelce and 3 in Tuchania) [1]. According to a report by the German police, 17 people were killed in Strzelce and 6 in Tuchania [2]. Information about 54 and more victims [3] [4] [5], which is sometimes found in the literature, most probably includes victims of the crimes in Mołożów, Nabroże and several other localities [2].
The attack on Strzelce was a retaliation by the Polish underground for the German action Ukraineraktion, often carried out [necessary footnote] with the participation of the Ukrainian Auxiliary Police [4]. Strzelce and Tuchanie were villages partially inhabited by Ukrainian displaced persons.
