Local UPA militants „Blood Potap” kidnapped 61‑year‑old Fr Karol Baran, where they punched him with a saw in a wooden trough, and The local Ukrainians murdered 7 Poles, including a teacher, tying some of their hands with barbed wire and torturing them. By the end of July, 22 more people who had come to their farms for food were murdered.

The Ukrainians persuaded 2 Polish families to return and then murdered them – 11 Poles. In 1944, the Home Army unit discovered a dozen bodies buried under school desks, including the teacher's family, in a well in the school yard, and Poles were also found in other farmyards. In total, the Ukrainians murdered at least 104 Poles in this village.
