The UPA murdered 8 Poles (including 5 women and a few–month–old child of one of them) and a Russian woman, the wife of a murdered Pole. Moreover, a seriously ill 90‑year‑old Maria Golec and her 60‑year‑old son died of exhaustion because the Bulbowmen did not allow them to help.

In the vicinity of Hołe Bołoto wilderness secret spot, between Mielnica Mała and Stepań villages – in Kostopol county, the UPA shot 20‑year‑old Wacław Kępa, who was going to ask the Germans for defense against the UPA gang attacking Mielnica.
