In the villages of Sośnica and Święte, poviat Jarosław, [on the night of May 5—6, 1946] the UPA burnt 280 farms and murdered 5 Poles, including a 75‑year‑old woman burnt alive.

source: Żurek Stanisław, „Calendar of the genocide – May 1946 and Spring of 1946”; in: portal: Volhynia — web page: wolyn.org [accessible: 2021.06.10]

On May 5, 1946, around 9 p.m., the Bandera followers, estimated at around 500 people (this is a significantly overestimated number of attackers, which appears in [Polish] Border Patrol Guards WOP reports, and in the police reports even higher number of 1,500 attackers appear), burned down the villages of Sośnica and Święte which were partially inhabited by the repatriates. During the fire, the attackers took 103 horses from the farmers and burned 20 civilians.
In the reports of the Municipal Board in Młyny, the beginning of the attack was stated as May 5 on 22.30 and as a result 50% of Święte and 85% of Sośnica were burnt.
In the description of the attack on the Jarosław poviat eldership, we read: „On 5 May 1946, around 10.00 p.m., about 1,000 people came to Sośnica and, after the robbery, burned 280 formerly Ukrainian farms, and 20 partially. Only about 50 houses remained in the community. The Banderites robbed 100 horses, 30 carts, 35 cows, 20 pigs, 80 pairs of shoes and over 300 garments. 1 woman of 75 years was burnt [Agnieszka Bielowska] and 2 people were injured. At the same time, 18 farms totally and 28 partly and 12 stables were burnt down in Święte. 4 horses were robbed”. The document does not contain information about the burning of as many as 20 civilians, which was mentioned in the WOP report. However, the report of militia MO contains information about the abduction of a dozen or so young Poles.
