general info
Smordwa
In Smordwa village in Rivne county „The Stankiewicz family lived next to the Smordewski forest, and apparently sometimes Polish partisans were hiding there. One of the «forest people» was the s/o Stankiewicz, Antoni (they called him Tońko). In the fall, someone reported the presence of partisans, a Ukrainian militia arrived. Some of them were shot on the spot, most of them were burnt in the apartment. Only Antoni's wife with a child (a boy of several months) survived, they arrested her and gave the child to a nursery. He stayed in Russia and grew up there too. His aunt Joanna Maliszewska lived in Koszalin. After the war, he came to Koszalin several times, and his main dish was «vodka». Antoni's brother, Valerian, lived in the neighborhood, after a few weeks the police came again and set fire to the other brother, this time no one survived”.
