Skomorochy Stare

The Banderites murdered the parish priest, Fr Tadeusz Stroński. „A group of 6 murdered the parish priest, Fr Stroński, an outstanding national and Catholic activist. He was killed with three shots. Late Fr Stroński was 44 years old. From his earliest youth, he worked in the ranks of the national camp. In 1918 he took part in the defense of Lviv and was decorated with the Independence Cross. Late the deceased was the brother of a well–known activist, prof. Stroński. The corpse of the late Fr Stroński were brought to Lviv and laid to rest at the Łyczakowski Cemetery on Sunday 17.X.43”.

Among the murderers was the s/o a Greek Catholic priest and parish priest, Sławko Niernyj; his father Vasyl Niernyj was the initiator of the murders in the area. One of the murderers was dressed in the cassock of Fr Wierzbowski.
