On the road in the forest between Pniewy and Skomorokha, the Ukrainians (three policemen) murdered Fr Józef Szostak and the monk Piotr Mojsijonek.

The first victim murdered on the road from Lubieszów on June 24, 1943 was the parish priest Józef Szostak, murdered together by a monk from Lubieszów, Piotr of the Piarist Order.
