In Siomaki, next to the village of Gajówka (Maciejów commune, Kowel county) – in August – Ukrainian nationalists surrounded the gamekeeper's lodge in broad daylight, and then captured and cruelly murdered the six–person family of the forester Piotrowski.

Antoni Piotrowski and his family were murdered by the Ukrainians after an attack on the forester's lodge. Apart from the gamekeeper, the following people died: Piotrowska, 50, son Feliks, 25, with his wife Eugenia, 20, and their one‑year‑old son, Edward, 17.

Using axes, forks and other tools, they murdered over 30 Poles, mostly women and children. At that time, a group of UPA gamekeepers, Młynarczyk, aged around 56, with his wife, aged around 48, and their four children, and Niewiarowska, pregnant, aged around 40, were murdered. gamekeeper Stanisław Janaczek and his son.
