The UPA from the nearby villages murdered 16 to 40 Poles, incl. A Ukrainian murdered a Polish midwife who picked him up at birth. They took the victims' documents, which they used in Poland after the war; they also destroyed the baroque church from 1668. During the attack, the Styczyński family was saved by a Ukrainian, Juchno, and at that time his son was murdering Poles in that village.

Who is the hero of the current „of the self–contained” of Ukraine – the old Ukrainian Juchno saving the Polish family, or his son, young Juchno, murdering the defenseless Polish population, including women and children?
