The Ukrainians murdered a Polish family of three: Rogalińska with two children. First, they stabbed her 2 and 3‑year‑old children with bayonets before her eyes, then they cut off her breasts and tortured her – before that they guaranteed her safety, she was the wife of a pre–war community secretary, whom they murdered on December 24, 1942.

On Christmas Eve, an armed gang of The Ukrainians captured 3 Poles on the road while Polish families were visiting each other with Christmas wishes. They were: the teacher Jan Kosiek; former banking clerk in Lutsk, Stefan Michałowski, 35, and former secretary of the Kołki Rogaliński commune. The victims were herded towards Kołki. In the spring of 1943, their bodies, bound with barbed wire, were pulled out of Styr. (Siemaszko, p. 576 – they say 1942, but the s/o the murdered Stefan Michałowski gives the date 1943).

The Ukrainians murdered my father on Christmas Day 43. Even he and the godfather managed to dress up as Santa Claus and hand out gifts to each other. They both died – says Jacek Michałowski. – Ulaniki was our headquarters on the distaff side, situated on the other side of Lutsk Rudnia, on the sword side. After this tragedy, we left, or rather – we escaped from there.

They were probably abducted from the village of Ulaniki II.
