Rewuszki
I will now describe the fate of Karol Mroziuk and his wife. This is my mother's great–uncle. They lived near the village of Turia, because the Turia River is also in Volhynia. The town was called Rewuszki. Near the forest, fertile soil. They both got married at an older age, mostly men who used to get married when they were older. They had three children, only little daughters: 15, 9 and 3. Stasia, Felicja and Kazimiera. From July 1943, they no longer spent the night at home, but in the woods or in the grain with their neighbors. A Ukrainian neighbor tells Mroziuk's wife to let the children come to her house to sleep. If The Ukrainians were to come, she would say that they are her children. The mother obeyed and gave her children to a Ukrainian woman for the night, but she did not know that the Ukrainian woman's husband was driving at night and killing Poles. One morning my mother burst into this Ukrainian hut, and seeing that the children were sleeping peacefully, she covered it better. Suddenly, a cart stops in front of the house and the bandits go to the apartment. The Ukrainian woman yells at Mroziukowa to run to the attic. She throws herself and escapes up a ladder in the hall to the attic, mother of three. And what she can see through the window in the attic, her children were led by the Ukrainians armed with rifles, and the murderers behind them. After a while, she heard three shots, the children were shot. The mother runs to her husband in the forest and beats him out of despair there. She wanted to flee to the city many times earlier, but her husband did not agree to it, he did not agree to leave the farm and everything that happened in the cowshed. Now the hair is tearing on the head. His wife says that now he will not go to the city because there is no one to live for. The neighbors led her into town. They had both argued for years that they gave their children to their Ukrainian neighbor's death. And so they quarreled and walked with a bundle of bread in hand. There were thousands of such people, I gave an example of only one family, because they were our cousins.
