The murder took place on November 23, 1944. „By a dirt road, or rather a path, stretching along the wooded ridge from Rajbrot to Michalczowa, there were two or three houses – including the Odrońiec house as our accommodation. a civilian approached the duty alarm post with an ax under his arm. The soldier, seeing the civilian, disregarded the danger and saw him at close range. Then the guard «Zeron» received a deafening blow to the head. The details of this tragic event are known thanks to two young girls at the time: 18‑year‑old Bronisława Odroniec (mistake – Mrs. Bagińska from Górna Wojakowa, which on that day, as often as she slept in the Odrońców house and was a witness and participant in the tragedy. The girls were the first to fall out of the burning house, as they slept in the attic, and here the fire spread under the straw thatched roof the fastest. They did not have time to find and put on shoes in a hurry, so they were barefoot. Right behind the girls, Wawrzyniec Odroniec let the cattle in, which were taken care of by the neighbors, and he stayed in the house where he burned down. Three partisans, that is: Marian Komorowski, 18 from Kuczki near Kutno, and BeChowcy – Bolesław Wała and Henryk Mars, 21 from Mogiła near Kraków, tried to break free, but they barely fell out of the house and died struck by fire from vending machines. They were almost without any chances, after all, being blinded by the fire, they did not see the attackers hiding in the darkness. So the Germans shot them as if they were for targets. Two other young 18‑year‑old Lvovians, who came to us in the Rożnów area from «Organization Todt» burned inside the house. However, we did not find any traces of their bodies in the ruins, they must have burnt to the ground. The tanned and naked bodies of three partisans, Wehrmachters threw Odroniec on a farm wagon, both arrested girls were harnessed to it, and both barefoot – because they had fallen out of the burning house – kicked and pushed, dragged the wagon along four kilometers of mountain bumps, and there was already snow. Shouldn't Christ's path to Golgotha be considered less cruel?”.
