On October 1, 1943, he and his friend were kidnapped by UPA militants, and an official of the Rycerz Roman forestry company, 24 years old, was murdered in the forest after being beaten and mutilated.

After dragging them to the forest, cruelly beaten and mutilated, they were (as it seemed to the attackers) murdered. The next day – in the morning hours, the victims of the robbery were found. R. Knight was already dead and his friend was seriously wounded. Managed to testify. After the investigation, the Germans lost their interest in this matter.
