Podkamień

The Banderites and local The Ukrainians murdered about 80 Poles, including Fr Stanisław Paszczakowski, vicar of the Podkamień parish. During the day, the Ukrainian police searched Poles for weapons. When she was not found, in the evening around 6–20 pm, the „Siromancy” sotnya arrived, which, together with local Ukrainians, entered Polish homes and murdered with knives, axes, hammers and forks, only the escapees were shot at. The day after the crime, German police arrived in Podkamień, took photos of the victims and left. The corpse was buried in a mass grave that Ukrainian nationalists later razed to the ground.
