Pietnice

[The Ukrainians] murdered 2 Poles. „In Pietnice (Dobromil Delegation), a retired tax official, Mr. Milczarski, was abducted. He was found shot in a nearby forest in the evening. After a few days, i.e. on the day of the funeral, while his family was away, all his belongings were stolen. It is noted that one of the robbers was in the SS” uniform.

Ukrainian policemen kidnapped and murdered Stanisław Reiter. „I kindly ask you to enter my grandfather Stanisław Reiter on the list of Poles murdered in Galicia by UPA gangs. Stanisław Reiter, village administrator, Defender of Lviv, July 20, 1944 Pietnice – Dobromil – Przemyśl. Some data from my grandfather's biography. Stanisław Reiter, s/o Stefan, b. 11/04/1896. in Pietnice, Dobromil commune, Przemyśl county. On March 19 in Lviv for the defense of Lviv and the Eastern Borderlands in 1918–1919, he was decorated by the Commander of the army East, General Rozwadowski with the honorary badge «Orlęta» No. 41240. For two terms he was the mayor in Pietnice, where he built the People's House. In 1938 he was awarded the Bronze Cross for his activity in the social field. He was also the founder and President of the Riflemen's association in this town and the President of the Volunteer Fire Department. On July 20, 44 he was kidnapped and murdered by the Ukrainian police. The burial place is unknown, somewhere in the forest near Dobromil”.
