Peresołowice
On October 26, 1944, MO officers came to the village to arrest a Ukrainian – Antoni Makowski. During an attempted arrest, two armed men ran out of the yard and opened fire on the policemen, killing 2 and wounding 1 of them. Antoni Makowski and these two people managed to escape.
In the afternoon (around 5 pm) a group of the Citizens' Militia officers from the police station in Trzeszczany arrived in the village. Thirteen people were arrested and 9 farms were burnt, killing one old woman. Thirteen detainees were put into arrest in Hrubieszów (previously they were probably detained and beaten at the police station in Trzeszczany). During the night of October 26–27, partisans of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army murdered two Polish families in the village and burned their houses.
Probably in retaliation for the death of Poles, on October 27, policemen returned to Peresołowice, who murdered about 30 people of Ukrainian nationality, burned 5 farms, and then robbed the village.
