The UPA and the local Ukrainian peasants murdered about 150 Poles, mainly women, children and the elderly, using axes, bayonets, and burning them alive – they robbed and burned their farms. The Poles were surprised by the UPA unit, which launched the attack in the early hours of the morning, as a possible attack at night was expected. The attackers shot the village with incendiary missiles, and killed some of the victims by throwing them into previously set fire to buildings. The Poles escaped through marshy meadows to the forest, chased by the UPA. Property was robbed at the same time. The next day, some people who managed to hide in the forest returned to the village, where they found about 150 bodies of the murdered. The identities of all victims have not been established.
