The UPA murdered 39 Poles and an 18‑year‑old girl had her stomach open. Wiktor Poliszczuk reports that 46 Poles were murdered at that time. In 1995, a Pole, Józef Kuśnierzewski, was asked: what is this monument on a tall mound covered with turf, on which stands a birch cross, and next to it a granite monument with a large plaque and names carved in Ukrainian – it was answered that it was a monument to the murdered inhabitants Pavlov, who were shot by the Red Army soldiers for not wanting to join the army. „In fact, it was the grave of Poles murdered by Banderites. And this is how I came across the falsification of historical facts practiced by Ukrainians […] Meanwhile, in Poland, The Ukrainians are erecting monuments to UPA murderers and to their glory, and Poles often help them”.
